    Master irregular participles, learn war and hatte, and talk about your weekend.

  2. Unit 2

    Trips and travel

    Use the simple past of modal verbs and handle holidays, transport and travel plans.

    Reasons and opinions

    Give reasons with weil and denn, report opinions with dass, and say what you think.

  4. Unit 4

    When and if

    Use wenn and als clauses, and talk about invitations, celebrations and how things used to be.

  5. Unit 5

    Daily life at home

    Learn reflexive and dative verbs, and handle housework, cooking and house rules.

  6. Unit 6

    Housing and moving

    Use two-way prepositions, describe your flat, and deal with a landlord and a move.

  7. Unit 7

    Describing and comparing

    Compare with -er and am -sten, add adjective endings after der, and describe people and things.

  8. Unit 8

    Nature and the city

    Add adjective endings after ein, and talk about nature, animals and your neighbourhood.

  9. Unit 9

    Health and polite requests

    Ask politely with würde and könnte, and handle doctors, pharmacies and appointments.

  10. Unit 10

    Work and plans

    Talk about the future with werden, learn verbs with fixed prepositions, and handle work life.

  11. Unit 11

    Out and about

    Ask indirect questions, link ideas with deshalb and trotzdem, and handle shopping, eating out and money.

  12. Unit 12

    Official Germany

    Use relative clauses and zu plus infinitive, and round off A2 with offices, courses and paperwork.
