Why this is the correct answer
Free elections mean no one may be pressured, coerced, or directed on whether to vote or how to vote. Each voter makes their decision independently, in secret, and without fear of consequences for their choice. This freedom is one of the five principles — general, direct, free, equal, and secret — that German law requires all elections to uphold.
